Civil Defence Centre in Hamilton
The Civil Defence centre in Hamilton was activated in a support role, in response to the Christchurch earthquake. Now that the most immediate crisis is under control in Christchurch the Hamilton emergency operations centre is now operating under its usual status.
Thank you to all the Waikato residents who have offerred donations of household furniture to Christchurch evacuees arriving in the region. Some evacuees to the Waikato did need furniture and other household items. Working with the Salvation Army in Hamilton we have been able to meet the need and are no longer asking for offers of donations. |
