Objective

To develop a cohesive approach to gateways to the city that:

  • Promotes characteristics and values that are distinctively Hamilton
  • Guides the application of the Road Reserve Planting Strategy or succeeding document
  • Defines the boundary of the city and provides a sense of arrival there
  • Creates a sense of place at each gateway which has a distinct character and identity relevant to each site
  • Provides scope for development and management of the city’s gateways to ensure their adaptability and longevity.
