Organic Waste

There are numerous opportunities for residents to process organic waste in your back yard such as composting, worm farms and bokashi bins. These solutions enable the diversion of both green waste and food waste from landfill. See the Hamilton Environment Centre site for information on these systems.

Where you are unable to process and utilise organic waste on your property, disposal of green waste is available via independent contractors who provide kerbside green waste bin collection services (see the yellow pages for more details) or drop off at the Hamilton Organic Centre.
