Role
To monitor the financial performance of Council against the Annual Plan and Long-Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP)
To monitor the high level non-financial performance measures and significant one-off projects specified by Council.
To consider and to make recommendations to Council on the sale, purchase and leasing of the commercial investment properties held in the Municipal Endowment Fund in accordance with any statutory requirements relating to the sale or exchange of endowment property except where the decision-making power in such matters has been delegated by Council to the Chief Executive.
Fields of Activity
- Audit Coordination (financial aspects)
- Funds Management
- Treasury/Debt Management
- Management of commercial properties (purchase or disposal) funded from the Municipal Endowment Fund
- To monitor quarterly the financial performance against the Annual Plan
- To monitor quarterly the high level non-financial performance measures and significant one-off projects specified by Council
- Approval of forecast variances against the Annual Plan
- To receive the minutes from the Contracts Subcommittee

- To make recommendations to Council on policies relating to the Fields of Activity of this committee
- To review the performance of all Council Controlled Organisations and Council Organisations in which Council has a significant financial involvement, including specifically:
- Hamilton Riverview Hotel Ltd
- New Zealand Local Government Insurance Corporation
- Waikato Regional Airport Ltd
- Local Authority Shared Services Ltd
- Hamilton Urban Fibre Network (HUFN)
