'I started working for Hamilton City Council about 12 years ago, initially as a part time parking warden.I enjoyed the challenges and outdoor work, and was then offered a part time job as a keeper at the Zoo - so for a while worked at the Zoo in the mornings and as a warden in the afternoons.
This eventually lead to a full time job at the Zoo and I love the job. The Zoo environment is always changing and there is lots of variety day-to-day. I enjoy working with the native wildlife as I often get chances to go outside the Zoo and participate in conservation projects, like releasing animals back to the wild or surveying wild species.
I enjoy the city and participate in agility with my dogs, belonging to the best agility club in New Zealand, Waikato Agility Group (WAG)!' |
