Objective
To reduce incidents and opportunities for crime by ensuring that Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles are understood and incorporated into all public and private development design in Hamilton City.
Policy
Council's design, planning, management and use of public space and community facilities will incorporate the concepts and philosophy of CPTED throughout our service delivery and asset management programmes.
Council will investigate and where appropriate implement regulatory and non-regulatory mechanisms to ensure that private development incorporates the concepts and philosophy of CPTED.
