How do I apply to the Envirofund?

How much can you apply for?

Applicants can apply for either:

  • Standard funding: For project establishment and operation of up to a maximum of $5000
  • Special projects: For funding of special projects that will provide significant city wide environmental improvements in Hamilton and require more significant investment ($5000 and over).

Criteria

All projects must be consistent with:

Proposals must:

  • Be for the benefit of the Hamilton's environment
  • Encourage community involvement, either directly or through increased awareness
  • Contain a strong environmental education component
  • Not conflict with the interests of Council as a consent authority
  • Not lead to a commercial or personal profit.

Recommended attributes:

  • Projects which are designed to be ongoing and become self supporting (projects will not normally receive subsequent funding)
  • Projects which have clear outcomes and have an auditing/monitoring component
  • Projects that are not more appropriately funded through other sources

 

Applying for funding:

  • Action Planner
    • The Action Planner is provided to help you plan your project prior to applying for funds. The Plan sets out simple questions you'll need to be able to answer in order to complete the application form. Keep the Action Planner for your own use/future reference.
       
    • Online application
    • Download the hardcopy application (return by post)

    All applicants will be notified of the outcome before 30 June in the year of their application.

    Applications must include:

    • Completed application form
    • MInutes of the organisation's last meeting
    • The organisation's last financial statement
    • The organisation's last bank statement.

    Successful applicants must be responsible for:

    • The administration of fund money in accordance with sound accounting procedures
    • Providing feedback on project progress within six months of receiving funding and is expected to complete a final report detailing outcomes of the project
    • Timely completion of entry survey and final application forms.

     

    Applications must be received by 4pm on 30 March in the year of application
