Neighbourhood development

The Neighbourhood Development Team consists of four full-time Neighbourhood Advisor's who are based in in the East, West, North and South areas of the city, and a Team Leader based centrally at Council's offices in Garden Place.

As part of a collaborative project with Sport Waikato and SPARC we also have a full-time Neighbourhood Sport and Recreation Coordinator employed to active local parks in key communities across the city.

What do we do?

Most importantly, we encourage and participate in collaborations between community, service provides and government agencies to improve well-being in our city.

Our team hope is to empower vibrant communities across Hamilton City.  We do this by

  • creating opportunities for neighbourhoods,
  • fostering positive partnerships through collaboration,
  • providing specialist advice and information,
  • and developing sustainable projects to meet community needs.
