Flood Hazard Information
From 30 October 2012 Council received final flood hazard mapping for parts of the city. This information is being used in the Proposed District Plan to identify flood hazard areas.
See the Hamilton Flood Information video below to find out more.
You can view flood hazard mapping around the city, or search for your address, using our flood hazard GIS map viewer. Search by address, plan number, valuation number or road name. Use the legend on the left titled 'Flood Data' to find out what flood hazard area affects the property. Click on the property to zoom in or use the plus and minus buttons to zoom in and out.

Technical reports supporting the new flood hazard mapping and modelling are also available.
Council also holds information regarding flooding depth and velocity. If you have an urgent requirement for this information in relation to your property, please email floodenquiries@hcc.govt.nz. We intend to have this information available on these web pages in due course.
Letters are being sent to all property owners who received a letter in April 2012. The letter to the owners of properties no longer affected (PDF, 205KB) by this data will relate to all other properties under that property owner's name. If you own other property using another name (e.g. a Company) you will receive separate letters.
All letters regarding affected properties (PDF, 373KB) give a corresponding flood hazard map number for each property and these maps can be downloaded from the Flood Hazard Map page.
Please visit the Flood Hazard Information Questions and Answers for an explanation of what this means for you and your property, and how this information is being used. You can also download a summary of the key points here (PDF, 487KB).
