Council is inviting the public to pay their respects to Dame Te Atairangikaahu by signing a remembrance book in her honour. Badal, the red panda who escaped from Hamilton Zoo on Monday [14 August], was located last night and has since died. A neighbour contacted Hamilton Zoo staff at 10pm last night to say that the panda had been found on a road that bordered the zoo and appeared injured. Badal died from his injuries shortly after.
