The first stage in the construction of a temporary stand began yesterday [Monday, 9 May 2005] at the eastern end of Waikato Stadium as Totara trees are moved into large containers to make way for the structure. Waikato Tsunami Relief Fund (Waikato) was established to generate a relief response to the Asian tsunami disaster and they did so to the tune of over $90,000.
